FRED Modeling Language Introduction

Welcome to the Framework for Reconstructing Epidemiological Dynamics, also known as FRED!

FRED is a programming language for writing agent-based models. The world presented by FRED is populated with agents. These agents can represent anything, but are often used to represent individual people. Simulations using these agents can provide a unique insight into how a particular scenario might play out were it to occur.

For example, agents, can be assigned demographic features such as age, gender, and race. FRED can simulate the day-to-day interactions of such agents, such as an individual going into work for the day, or perhaps an student that is a student decides to go to a ski resort instead of school because there was a blizzard the previous night!

FRED simulates the daily activities of each agent and tracks changes in the population resulting from their actions and interactions.
